The first week with our puppies has come to an end – what an extraordinary, intense, and love-filled time it’s been! Once the surprise had settled (because no matter how prepared you are, it’s still magical to finally see them), we could truly start enjoying the three little miracles.

On the first day, they each lost a bit of weight. Naturally, that made us a little nervous, but we trusted Molly and the wisdom of nature. By the next day, her milk had come in properly, and the pups had grown well. They’re all thriving now!

That said, it hasn’t been without its challenges. Purple pup gave us a scare one evening with a nasty case of constipation. Her belly was bloated, and she became lethargic – really worrying. After consulting the vet, Eszter was able to gently stimulate her belly, and thankfully, that helped. The blockage passed, and just a few hours later, she was sleeping peacefully again.

As if that weren’t enough, Molly also had a rough patch at the end of the week, developing an infection in one of her teats. Once the infected fluid was drained, she recovered quickly – what a tough mama!

We hope the worst is behind us now. Despite the stressful moments, it’s been a beautiful week, and we’ve completely fallen in love with these three little beings. Tomorrow, the first potential new owners are coming to visit, and this weekend the family who will adopt Green pup is stopping by. We’re excited to see what week two will bring!
